29 Dec Umar & Sideeqa, Casa Labia & Kirstenbosch
I met Sideeqa for the first time in her slightly blood-stained scrubs at the Waterfront where she was a doctor at one of the hospitals in town. We immediately had so much to talk about and I knew she would be a stunning and laid-back bride!Fast forward to their engagement session on Signal Hill where I met Umar, a true gentleman. We had so much fun!
A few months later, Umar & Sideeqa’s beautiful Muslim wedding took place in Cape Town recently. This was by far the windiest wedding I have ever photographed and the day came with many challenges and restrictions. One example was that the wind on the balcony of Sideeqa’s home was so strong that is was impossible to stand outside and take photos with the views. Yes, as Capetonians would know, it was that bad!
Getting married in Cape Town with the South Easter in full force is not for the faint-hearted. Sideeqa was a star though and braved the conditions as well as the terrain with a smile, including having to hike back in heels in the dark from the night shoot after our lift’s battery went flat! Luckily we had Casa Labia booked for our couple photos and could do most of it indoors. The photo’s are all worth the effort though!
It was a joy to work with this stunning couple from the very start. Congratulations Umar & Sideeqa!
